Project outline

The installation 'zein's fiction' pursues my investigation of belonging and abode. Looking back from a far future, I imagine an ethnological museum that tells the story of migration running backwards from 2010 on. What would happen if we all returned to our origins - and finally to Africa?
My conceptual plot induced me to extensively explore the decomposition of places by means of migration: The remains of a large 'shelter' made of cardboard, tape and steel, miniatures of plastic garbage, a gold plated helmet and photographs simulating archaeological excavation sites.
The sole text-element is the drawing 'Do you ? believe there is an innocent past?'
Installation views: Trendwände, Kunstraum Düsseldorf (Germany), 28.08. - 06.09.2009
